The Forest of Rambouillet
The state forest of Rambouillet is one of the biggest and beautiful forest in France : a wooded area of 200 km². If you arrive early in the morning, you will watch some deers and boars.
Hiking trails
GR1
The hiking trail GR1 starts from Paris near “la Porte Maillot” (on the west of Paris).
You are going to visit Feucherolles, Davron, Thiverval-Grignon, Neauphle-le-Vieux, Saint-Germain-de-la-Grange, Méré, Montfort l’Amaury, Gazeran, Rambouillet, Saint-Arnoult-en-Yvelines.
Cycle paths
About 50km cycle paths crosses the forest of Rambouillet.
You can start your ride from Montfort l’Amaury (route Robert).
To Le Perray en Yvelines
Les Étangs de Hollande between Montfort l’Amaury and Rambouillet.
You can stat from the South of Montfort to get to the ponds.
To Poigny la Forêt
From the East of the forest, you are going to take a trail at Le Mesle à Poigny-la-Forêt for 11 km.
To Rambouillet
The cycle paths of the Rambouillet forest are amazing !
The major cycle path goes from Rambouillet to Montfort l’Amaury : 20km through nature.
